STRONG ARMS OF JXN: CREDIBLE MESSENGER INITIATIVE

The credible messenger philosophy tests on the belief that the answers to our problems are in our community and those of us closest to the pain, are closest to the solution. A Credible Messenger is a person indigenous to the community that oftentimes has lived experience similar to the young person they are mentoring and supporting. Through a year-long participatory community research and mapping process, PAI fostered the development of Strong Arms of JXN, an initiative dedicated to training, mentoring and resourcing people hardest hit by mass incarceration with the tools they need to restore front line communities that have been deprived of people and resource capital, heal from trauma and create new opportunities for safety, hope and self-determination in the streets, in the family and beyond.
